Kicking sand into a black girl's fresh braids probably wasn't the best way to make friends for six-year-old Marshall Stone. In fact, that's how he found a rival.

Love Lewis has always disliked the boy that had her mother on a rampage when she came home with sandy hair in the first grade. She thought that would be the first and last she'd be seeing of him. Oh, how lucky she is to continue the rest of her elementary, middle, and high school years with him.

Imagine the relief she felt when they began attending different colleges - ten minutes away from each other but far enough for her. Two years of only having to see him at basketball games and the occasional party turned into the result of maybe his worst idea to date.

When Marshall Stone decides to rope her into a not-so-well-thought-out plan to fool his father and soon-to-be-step-mother into thinking he has a girlfriend, Love couldn't be more confused. She's sure he has girls falling at his feet, ready to throw themselves at him, completely willing to fake a relationship just for some alone time with him. So why her?

Unfortunately, Marshall doesn't even know the answer to that question.

But who said you can't find Love when you least expect it?

I was walking to my locker when I heard someone calling for somebody. "Hey! Little cutie!" They called. I kept waking, since no one noticed me and I doubted that it would've started then. It was a hallway full of cute girls, all of them much cuter than me, so why would they be calling for me? They whistled. "Shortie with the ponytail!" They called, their voice now closer to me. I still kept walking to my locker since there were still several other girls, who were taller than me but still relatively short, wearing ponytails. I felt a light tap on my shoulder once I got to my locker. I turned around and my breath caught in my throat at who was talking to me. Maximus King. The hottest guy in all of Hillside High. With his jet black hair that was always messy but still looked amazing, his steel grey eyes that all the girls talked about, his sharp jawline that could cut someone, his tall, six-foot five inches form that towered over me, and his strong form that could easily take out pretty much all of the guys in school, he was what every girl looked for. He had a bit of a bad reputation, well, a lot of a bad reputation, but most girls didn't care about that. I cared, and was very afraid of him and all of his friends except for Xander. In fact, if he had a reputation of sleeping around, I think I would've avoided him like the plague. Good thing he only flirted with girls and never slept, kissed, or touched them. "Hey, shortie, I was talking to you," he said with his deep voice. I cleared my throat after a few seconds of me gaping at him. "S-sorry. I-I didn't k-know," I squeaked. He chuckled. "I even said 'shortie with the ponytail!' yet you still didn't know." I gulped. "That's cute," he said. Amethyst Stone, a short, four-foot eleven inches girl that Maximus King has taken an interest to. When? You'll find out. Why? He could tell you, but don't get your hopes up. Will it work out? Read if you really want to know. 12/21/18- 8/8/19- 12/27/20

"Stop whining like a little princess," Devyn spoke so only he could hear. "The quicker you shut the hell up, the quicker we get this over with." Lexin's pulse skyrocketed as he realized this was actually happening. His scalp burned from the hard grip, but his body welcomed it. Lexin looked at Devyn with shock before his eyes turned to slits, a nasty glare forming. His body jerked when he felt Devyn's other hand rest at the base of his neck, thumb pressing at the dip of his collarbone and throat. The world halted when Lexin felt those soft lips on his neck. His mind went haywire. ~'~ Lexin wasn't depressed. He was aloof, careless, reckless, and had a bad case of insomnia. Which might be symptoms of depression. After his parents pass in a tragic accident, he's forced to move in with Monica Vale, his mom's best friend. Due to his lack of family, she was named his guardian. This would all be good and well. Lexin could go on brooding and driving his life into the dirt. Or at least he could have, if it weren't for her arrogant son, Devyn Vale. Devyn and Lexin had despised each other for years. Since the beginning of eighth grade, they decided they no longer liked each other. Devyn was a goodie two shoes with perfect grades, a captain title for the lacrosse team, a perfect volleyball girlfriend, and an annoyingly large group of friends. Lexin was a bit of a loner. He had claimed the 'bad boy' title at school. Partying had always been his thing, but when his parents died it took a turn for the worse. He had two friends, Christina Faix from second grade and Luca Harrison from the lacrosse team. Other than that, he didn't communicate much unless he was hooking up with some poor soul. Now his lacrosse captain was not only up his ass at school, but also lived with him. The two boys are forced into close proximity and things build up for the worse. What happens when the tension explodes at a game of truth or dare in the middle of a party?
