"Once a upon a time there was a girl met the President.

She didn't realize at first who he was but as soon as she realized who he was, she bowed. To which he responded with: 'You have no reason to bow to me because I do believe I'm in love with you. I know this is forward but I've never met another girl like you.' The girl was blushing by this point. 'I'll give you whatever your heart desires, if you'll just stay in the Capitol a few more days.'

Well, a few days turned into a few weeks turned into a few months until the girl was appearing in Capitol movies, attending important dinners, and her favorite of all: spending time with the President himself. The two got to know each other quite well. And for an entire year, they chatted and flirted and he never did anything besides hold her hand. She couldn't figure out why he could be content with that but he was. He found the beauty in small, sentimental things like that. And once the girl realized that, she discovered that she had fallen in love with him.

Then there was no way the shy girl from District 1, a ruthless killer, could ever return back to her old life," I said, finishing my story.

"That's just as I remember it," Coriolanus Snow said, with a sigh.

Book One of the Timber Series. In the rugged woodlands of District 7, fate dramatically alters the lives of Hazel Marlowe and her younger brother when they are both selected during the reaping for the 15th Annual Hunger Games. The historic selection of siblings in the same games, quickly captivates the Capitol, drawing a morbid fascination from its citizens. Senator Coriolanus Snow, ambitious apprentice Gamemaker under the notorious Dr. Gaul, has his eyes set on the presidency. Determined to make this year's Games unforgettable, he sees a unique opportunity in Hazel's tragic story. As Hazel fights to protect her brother, she must also contend with Snow's mysterious behavior. It isn't long before she realizes that the Hunger Games isn't the only game being played. ~ The intensity of his scrutiny felt like a physical weight, pressing against her with an almost suffocating force. Then his piercing stare softened into a smile, one so well-crafted and timed it seemed nothing less than a rehearsed performance. She was walking a fine line by challenging a man who held her and her brother's fate in his elegantly gloved palms. With long strides, he closed the distance between them. His gloved hand took hers. The softness of his touch clashed violently with the dread coiling in her stomach. He leaned closer, the warmth of his breath against her ear contradicted the chill his presence invoked as he whispered, "Be careful, Miss Marlowe." ⚠️ This is a Hunger Games fanfiction after all, so it will definitely have moments of violence, death and possibly self harm. **This is a fan-created work inspired by Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games" series. She's a Siren. If you hear her voice, run. Don't look back. 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 Carolina Seymour has always hated Finnick Odair, and clearly, the feeling is mutual. But when she gets reaped for the 68th Hunger Games, and Finnick is assigned to be her mentor, she has to put all of her past feelings about him aside and learn how to trust him. If she didn't, she'd be as good as dead.
