When Hope Baxter's father ends up in the hospital over the holidays, her mother and grandfather must fly to Pennsylvania for a while. Hope has no choice but to spend the holidays with their very close family friends and neighbors, the Clark's. Hope is jut trying to survive the holidays without her parents, so she is lucky to have a best friend like Christina to get her through it. However, Hope finds this harder to do when Christina's older brother, Alex , comes home from college for the holidays. Things begin to change between Hope and Spencer. She becomes aware that this holiday brake will be anything but ordinary.
