Min Soo-yun grew up with the knowledge that her father wanted her to be the next Queen of Joseon and would stop at nothing to place her on the throne. Despite not wanting that future for herself and against all odds, Soo-yun is chosen during the Royal Selection Process to be the royal bride for the 'Stone Prince'.

Upon meeting Ha-neul for the first time, she discovers that the Crown Prince was nothing like how the gossip portrayed him. Expecting a cold or cruel individual, the person that she found herself betrothed to is kind and gentle, although emotionally distant from everyone else in the court. 

She finds that there is peril around every corner as she has to deal with an insane king, a manipulative queen, a serial killer stalking the streets of the capital, a band of ruthless outlaws, and a potential rebellion. With few people that she can trust, she will soon learn a shocking secret about the Crown Prince that threatens to shatter their fragile love and possibly bring down the kingdom of Joseon itself.
