Rainbow Dash has spent the last year at Canterlot High in a flurry of magic, wonder and adventure. First, two girls from an alternate pony world came to their school however one was bent on ruling their world while the other wanted to save them. After Twilight Sparkle had helped to reunite her friends and defeat Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow and her friends all unlocked the Magic of Friendship. Then there was the Battle of the Bands where she discovered her passion for music however her competitive spirit had nearly caused them to fail. The long-awaited Friendship Games where Rainbow and the others started to pony-up randomly but their magic is taken away- by their world Twilight Sparkle! That had nearly destroyed their world as well. Finally, there was Camp Everfree which had been a blast. That had been Rainbow's favourite trip for she'd obtained the power of super speed! One heck of a year, alongside her best friends.

However when the new year starts, Rainbow receives a letter that threatens to rip apart her new life. For she has a secret, much bigger than a pony world or the Magic of Friendship. If this secret got out, it would be the end of Rainbow's time at Canterlot High... Although if she doesn't answer the letter's call, it could be the end... Canterlot High thought it would be free after their hectic Friendship Games and their terrifying time at Camp Everfree, and it really did seem like it at the time. She wants a rematch of the Friendship Games, with a few "minor" adjustments to the intensity. Dolores Cinch is up to no good. And Canterlot is in for some turbulence. But what's worse? Since childhood rainbow has been bullied by kids because of her height, her grade, and her family. when Rainbow's brother died her parents have gone ALOT of fights with each other, and that made them be even more separated. then suddenly her mom has been keeping rainbow locked up in her own house young Rainbow was confused why. she is only allowed to go to school and be back early before 4:00 pm. and she lived her life like that ever since... she dosent know what to do.. so she has to live with it.. of course is was understandable that it's very hurtful if you loose a member in your family but when Rainbow was bullied she dosent even tell her parents or guardian about it, until she is just left there hopeless and depressed. until.. a baby blue stallion with navy hair and green eyes named Soarin skies came in to her life and brought her back the light where there was happiness,joy,fun and no darkness. but as the time pass rainbow was now an official Wonderbolt and soarin and dash forgot about each other cause when they met again it's like.. they're both strangers to each other.. none of them remembers...then suddenly "soarin" was now the one bullying dash in hq..... but... when the both remembered each other soarin has to find a way to apologize to dash because he remembered that it was dash who he loved since they were kids but how? dash hated him now because of the bullying he gave her.. what. will. he. do???

However, her friends are supportive as always. When they meet with the other princesses, Celestia notices how tired Twilight and her friends look after their journey and sends all eight of them off to bed. Later that night, a cloaked unicorn sneaks into the castle and steals Twilight's crown. The next morning, Princess Celestia identifies the thief as Sunset Shimmer, her former student. The princesses explain that the mirror from which Sunset Shimmer escaped is a gateway to an alternate world and task Twilight with going into this other world to retrieve her crown. Little does she know, she will encounter her friends once again. What adventures await Twilight in this alternate world? Starlight knows. She now knows everything. Upon seeing the seven Equestria Girls leaving their last movie, they have no choice but to spill their story. Of course, she insists on going too, saying she can replace Rainbow Dash temporarily (as she's down for the count currently). And so they do. Now in the movie world, they meet 12 sisters and their father, King Randolph. And as a twist, Randolph's mind has changed to believe that the newcomers are just seven more of his daughters. Even the sets and plotlines change to add to this effect. Of course, the 12 sisters are quick to figure out the truth, just as Randolph brings in his cousin, Duchess Rowena, to turn them into "proper princesses." Rowena takes away everything the girls love. But one night, they all uncover a magical world, where they can dance to their hearts content. Starlight finds herself falling in love with a fantastical movie world she doesn't want to leave. But like with the golden pavilion, all good things had to reach an ending. And in the case of the movie, they have to stop Rowena before she poisons Randolph and takes over the kingdom.

Azura and the other guardians of Fairytopia have decided to select 14 new apprentices to learn the Flight of Spring, one of the most important events that secures the future of Fairytopia. And the guardians want Elina and the Equestria Girls to be eight of them! They fly to the Crystal Palace, where they learn how the flight goes: they open the First Blush of Spring, which will reveal the first rainbow for the fairy world. Fail, and Fairytopia is doomed for ten years of bitter winter. Slowly, all fourteen apprentices get to know each other, with Sunburst, Elina, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack becoming the most competitive towards each other. But it's not like things can go perfect for long. In fact, Elina, Linden, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy accidentally get Laverna out of her frog form, and things get even weirder when Sunburst suddenly starts acting nice. Three of the apprentices keep confronting them on the mistake. Oh, and the guardians fall into comas. The Enchantress knows that the fourteen have to complete the flight together.
