Taming Her Shadows

A black sleek car, with tinted windows, rolls up to the curb moments later and I bore into it dumbfounded.

"You are going to get in this car Jennifer, and we're going to talk. And I mean actually talk. No bullshit understand?" He moves his hand to my lower back to guide me to the car.

"I am not getting in any car with you." I step back from him and he moves forward to grab at me again but I manage to elude his touch.

He flinches at me and I shrink back. He shoots me an icy glare with his lustrous blue eyes. Then suddenly the left corner of his mouth quirks up and he lets out a halfheartedly laugh, running a hand through his already tousled hair. "My dear, you said it as if I gave you a choice in the matter. Because if I can recall, I did not."
