You've always been obsessed with Tony Stark, following the company closely even before he became Iron Man. He was the reason you became an engineer, but after an experiment-gone-wrong you got fire powers. S.H.I.E.L.D. knew, and decided to take you in to be a new recruit for the Avengers.
Loki never faked his death at the end of Thor: Dark World, and is stuck with his brother and the Avengers at the tower, where you two meet.

Everlasting Silence
After the war Thor looks to building New Asgard. Loki meanwhile is sent to stay with the Avengers. Falling Wind gushes past me as I tumble through the void. Stars blur together in the never ending dark, and I can't help but feel cold. And it's not the kind of cold that fades with warmth.
