He has a history with Jamie, but he just can't quite remember it. But when he's approached by the off-worlder, he knows he has to do what he can to protect Earth, and that means solving the puzzle that is Jamie.
And Jamie's starting to discover that destroying her connections to people, even covertly, is something that has consequences.
