The Lies We Learn to Tell

Sloane Baldwin, a lonely teenager living under the shadow of her extremely successful father and professional athlete sister, has a dark secret that she's never told anyone. When she's not attending galas or social parties, she's mastering her power of electrokinesis. One day, she's stopped on the street by a woman named Astrid Blythe, who informs her that there's a secret association known as Trucide that wishes to rid the world of all supernaturals; and they're willing to destroy the whole world to accomplish their goal. Kairo Ekkage, the leader of the organization, is dead set on taking down the realm of the supernatural along with his second-in-command, the venomously seductive River Enix. Known to be ruthless and having never taken prisoners before, Sloane knows that she has to rid the world of him before he gets there first.
As she tracks down the names given to her by Astrid, she meets Avery, a boy with an invisibility problem, Celeste, who controlled her abusive father's mind, leading him to take his own life, Jameson, an aspiring athlete with a psychokinetic issue, Clancy, a promising boy with social status and the gift of clairvoyance, and Wren, a book-smart girl with the ability to manipulate water. As this group merges into one team, they realize that they have almost nothing in common and are going to have to put everything they are into the team. As their story grows and they develop relationships beyond teammates, they're forced to decide where their loyalties lie and how much they're willing to sacrifice to save the good left in the world.
The tension grows stronger as they all realize that none of them have shared their powers with the rest of the world. They're entirely alone and the lies they spin may threaten to take them down before Kairo gets his shot. The lies they tell will determine the fate of the world, and reality itself lies in the hands of six teenagers with a death wish and a hunger to save the world.
