Myah made a promise to herself years ago.
She made a rulebook for life, if you will. In order to live the life of a Barrel fox, sacrifices needed to be made.
She needed to cut her old self out. Carve it out by the roots. It was an infection; a disease in need to be obliterated. She needed to destroy that part of herself; her name, her titles, her loyalties. Myah Borkov needed to become a new person, and to do that, she needed the strength to destroy her old world.
The stench of Ketterdam's Barrel was a sweet one. It was sweet enough to transform a sweet fox into one of aggression.
