Junior year of high school is hard. so is Living with a Sister with non-verbal Autism. Put those together and, well, you've got Kenzie Christion's life. Her sister Karly has probably the loudest personality you'll ever meet and loves to cause mayhem, which makes for a lot interesting days in the Christian household. The big question. is, can Kenzie balance both lives?

And the next thing I know is that we're no longer yelling. I hadn't even noticed that we went closer and closer to each other until I felt his breath on my lips and his nose nuzzling against mine as he bent to my level, his body towering over mine. For one, aren't they technically going to be related if her cousin and Daniel's dad get married? And not only for that reason, but many other reasons that will be revealed as the story progresses. Beck is autistic and spends most of her life locked away in her own mind as she reads her collection of books to escape her abusive alcoholic father. But once her eyes meet a grey eyed boy from across the room her world won't be the same. (18+ violence, adult themes, bullying, harassment and other issues) Being Autistic myself I have put a lot of me in this book. I've exaggerated certain aspects for entertainment values but other than that this is how awkward I feel most of the time. I don't see many books by women who write about their experiences in a creative way to spread awareness in a fun and compassionate way. This is mine I guess.
