Out of love Vicky married the emperor-to-be Frederick Wilhelm of Prussia, called Fritz within the family, but besides that it had been a political match, for her father Albert had projected a great mission onto his daughter: To transform his liberal ideas of a constitutional monarchy in Germany into reality.
