After a devastating catastrophe following a battle with an Angel, a lost Shinji wanders aimlessly in a place that is not dream yet not quite reality. Desprete to find Rei, he ecounters a mysterious omnipotent figure that also calls herself Rei. Shinji follows her alone. Somewhere admist a desolent landscape, fragments of time exsist of Shinji and everyone else at NERV-but they are not his own! Stuck in this purgatory state, Shinji is left to make the ultimate decision. Will he find Rei and return to his own reality? In the darkest hour one boy will rise up and become a legend.
