Lacuna: noun- an unfilled space or interval; a gap.

Luke and Sonder have been best friends since they were 5 and 6 years old. Now, they're in their twenties and are still inseparable.

Their favourite thing to do together is definitely explore. All they do is wander in the woods and check out abandoned buildings.

One day, when the two are out in an old forest, far from any buildings or towns, Luke trips on a tree root and tumbles down a steep hill. Sonder rushes down to help him but Luke is nowhere to be found. Sonder spends hours looking for her friend but is unsuccessful. Finally, long after the sun is gone down, Sonder decides to call a search party. The search lasts days, but Luke is not found.

A few weeks later, back at home, Sonder still waits for a call from her best friend. Luke had been presumed dead. But Sonder still has some hope. Luke had his phone with him, but there was no cell service in the area they were in. He had food and water in his bag, but that could only last him for so long.

Months after Luke had gone missing, Sonder gets multiple texts from an unknown number. 137 texts. When she opens the messages, her jaw drops.
