When Roppette Byding died in chivalrous battle, he was reborn as my - Alistair Dormire's - spirit guide. He's a bit stubborn and frustrating, but I cannot lose face. The great spirits of the dead grant great strength and wisdom to the ones that call to them them, thus all I can do is tolerate him and go along with his antics, until he deems me worthy of power.
Rank and status is not dictated by connections or blood lineage, but rather through severed ties and bloodshed. To reach The Palace of The Gods, only the strong can lead, and with a great spirit by my side I will be able to conquer all.

When I, Robert 'Bob' Byding died, I heard someone calling, it sounded like my name. The familiarity of it drew me close, and there I reached out to the light.
I don't know what Alistair's words meant when I came here, and I was more than certain my being here was an accident. However, a fantastic adventure for a higher purpose was all I really wanted, so I'll let myself pretend for a while.
