[The Little Mermaid/Cinderella Reimagined]
Ari has never felt at home in the role of "princess" of the sea, which as the youngest of seven affords no chance at power but condemns them to a future as nothing more than a pretty face and a political bride. They thought they still had time to figure out a way to escape that fate, but when their wayward behavior brings harsh retaliation from their father, it becomes a desperate race to escape the shackles of lifelong conformity. And Ari's only hope lies with a forgotten sea witch who offers a bargain that seems too good to be true.
Ella has never had any grand ambitions for her life, but when her father mysteriously dies and her cruel new stepmother uproots their family from the countryside to join the royal court, she finds a purpose: to prove to the crown that her stepmother killed her father. And when her stepmother discovers her plans and prepares to send her back to the country, the only way for Ella to stay and gain the trust of the crown prince is by offering herself up as a servant to a mysterious mute stranger the younger prince has brought to court.
This is The Little Mermaid and Cinderella as you have never seen them before: together. The result is unexpectedly twisted, bloody, and queer, and happily ever afters are not guaranteed.
CW: mature themes, descriptions of violence/blood
