They say life is no bed of roses, and Izuku will continue to firmly stick to that saying if only to anger his friend with never-ending plant puns- and no he's not letting that go.

Or someone who knows nothing about My Hero Academia ends up in a random kid's body after what should have been a fatal accident- with no memories of their previous life and even less knowledge about this strange new one. (And apparently, he can control flowers now? Whatever, at least he can use magic like these other sweaty brats.)

 With no concept of what is 'canon', he proceeds to unknowingly fuck up the timeline by befriending Izuku and crashing the car that is said canon, into a ravine.

"I know ok?!" - Izuku screams, he never screams. Shōto flinches and fights the instinct to cover his ears as he stays put with his back against the bedroom door. Fuyumi frowns with the headphones in her hands, ready to place them over his ears, but for once Shōto wants to know. "He's not special! He's just-" - the sentence stops, Inko warns him to stop as it often happens and somehow Shōto wishes Izuku wouldn't stop. He needs to hear it, he needs someone to say that word. "I'm your son, you birthed me, and still I'm never a priority..." - Izuku says and his voice breaks. It's quieter this time. Shōto opens the door and takes a tentative step outside, not really knowing why: maybe to confront Inko, or maybe to comfort Izuku. The entrance door slams and he's faced with only Inko. She looks at him with so much guilt she might as well just have killed a man. "I'm sorry..." - she says and Shōto doesn't understand what she's actually sorry about. ~ To sum it up: Tōya decided to run away from his abusive household with his sibling. Endeavour face a trial for child abuse that lead to his immediate hero career decline and incarceration. While Tōya manages to run away with Natsuo, Fuyumi and Shōto end up in a foster home. The widening of All Might's eyes was somewhat carthic but wasn't going to be enough. "No, we can't," Izuku told him before bracing. All For One let his son go to make his own choices, giving him a new identity, and new opportunities. He's taught Izuku well but needs to know that his son will come to him because it is his choice. Izuku is eager to see the world, and perception creates reality. What will Izuku see? A system that should be torn down and burned, or a system that is trying to be better than it is? Which side will he choose? Here, he is not All Might's chosen successor, but All For One's and no matter what he chooses, he will be a force to be reckoned with. Follows Izuku through into high school and canon time and all the fun that entails.

Now, he's freshly graduated high school and starting his freshmen year of college while trying to get his life back on track. That plan goes to shit when he reconnects with Katsuki Bakugou and, subsequently, his group of misfit friends. He thinks he has it handled, that he can just ignore the blond guy he vaguely considers a brother and move on with his life. His amazing backup plan goes to shit when Hitoshi Shinsou starts to be just a little too much of a bad influence. I'm hyper fixating on this recovering troubled kid trope and you can pry it from my cold dead hands. No quirk au obviously Shoto and Katsuki are just Izuku's big scary brothers in this.

It's there senior year and the Izuku everyone knew during first year is gone, replaced by a rude, quiet, antisocial person. Towards the end of first year he suddenly broke up with his boyfriends, Kirishima, Todoroki, and Bakugo as well as pushing away/cutting off everyone else. What they didn't know was that Izuku is intersexual, a rare medical condition in which someone is born with both sides of the reproductive system. His boyfriends had impregnated him; he'd been depressed and suicidal for years, and his mother, his only family, had died several years prior. His trauma and depression caused him to be scared enough to do the thing that hurt him most- cutting off those he cares about. All of them... or not. He's been a part of a small, secret friend group since about a month after the first year began. Izuku Midoriya, Denki Kaminari, and Minoru Mineta made up the Depressed Trio or DT. They stuck with him throughout this, helping him raise the twins he bore, becoming the "fun uncles" and helping him as much as they could, being that Izuku has been resistant to accept help.
