Sam thought being an engineering major was the most stressful thing about college. Turns out he was wrong. Not existing and having to intern in the underworld as an indirect result of that - well, that's more stressful. And, as it turns out, more dangerous. Who knew?

***

After the aftermath of the events of the past October, Sam Walker is looking forward to his winter break and the Billy Joel class he gets to take next semester. But when his break is disturbed by a strange individual in his basement, he is drawn back into the world of the Grim Reaper and the GRS, which is currently investigating the whereabouts of the deadly Lady Death.

On being given an internship he neither wants nor needs, Sam is placed in the center of the growing unrest of the underworld and the various administrations of Afterlife based there. The hunt for Lady Death fights for precedence with his curiosity over the tension between Cate Reaper and Afterlife's CEO Hayden Aranos. And when he discovers that the first and most significant serial killer is now on the prowl, his stress levels only go up.

With the combination of Lady Death, deathly drama, and the immortal serial killer, the jurisdiction of hell will be put to the test.

Soon it becomes apparent why: Mason is a werewolf. But when a fight turns into a sudden kiss that neither expects, Kieran's feelings for Mason turn to attraction in an instant. None of it makes sense - vampires and werewolves are supposed to be mortal enemies, so why does Kieran find Mason so irresistible? He knows that each kiss is dangerous, each bite is unpredictable...
