Room twenty-seven was good at devouring people whole. Or, it was good at devouring people like Meredith Housley, whole. Meredith wasn't ashamed of the way she found him, she wasn't even ashamed of the things she did in that room that night. She was ashamed of the way from the minute she found him, she wanted to keep him. She was ashamed because she had given him something worth more than seven million dollars and a lifetime of luxury. James was good at spending money, but never on the right things, until Meredith walked into Untied that night. He often stared out that same window in room twenty-seven, but never once did someone walk in worth spending a fortune on, until Meredith. He wasn't ashamed of the paths he had to tear up in his way to get to her, he was ashamed of the way he'd do it all again if it meant he could have that one thing he couldn't buy with money - her.
