It was August 13 when the government addressed the 1st ever modernized survival game for South Korean students and foreign students who were currently studying in the country... they said it was safe by the way... and not mandatory unlike military enlistment... 

"Your memory is the key. Please keep safe for us." 

I ran for my life, for the lives of the people I love... because that was what they wanted to happen. 

The game started well and... turned out hell. They played, they killed, they betrayed. I witnessed all of it and tried my best just to survive but... 

What game I was pertaining to? Who played and who died? What have I witnessed?.. And I survived from what? 

"Remember who you are." 

Maddieson Lee... Maddie. Maddie, Maddieson, Mads... 


I can't remember... all of it. Everything seems like... an endless nightmare. 

And maybe it's my own choice to choose what should I only remember.

890 hours... 765 hours and 43 minutes... I looked to the person that walked past me, going to cross the road, seeing his time. A solemn expression on my face, as I saw his countdown. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... With that, he was dead. A truck came screeching to his figure, body flying a few meters from the impact, limbs no longer intact, his blood soon forming a crimson puddle underneath him. This story is a slowburn that includes some enemies to lovers themes/undertones. I screwed up. I mean, really screwed up. I don't remember a time where I haven't screwed up, but this feels like I've gone past the point of no return. I've always thought that people wouldn't care. Wouldn't care if I suddenly dissappeared off the face of the earth. They wouldn't care if I was being beaten senseless on the ground. No one has ever cared, and I don't believe they ever will. Not really. Sometimes people just need a reminder. A reminder that they're worth it and that they're not alone. Some people just need a person they can trust.
