Those are the words igniting the flames of conflict between Spirits, extraterrestrial cosmic entities whose power can bend the laws of physics with the Deus Ex Machina Industries (DEM), a well-known technology company whose motivation regarding the Spirits is still mysterious. This particular company is also infamous amongst the spirits as they housed Ellen Mathers, a Wizard with a power so great that she could overpower Spirits or even end them.

As the previous conflict quieted down, Natsuro and Neri Yamago continued their lives as high school students in Tengu City's Raizen High. They continued blending into society, hiding the fact that they are Spirits affiliated with Ratatoskr, an organization made to handle spirits through peaceful means.

Nevertheless, living as a Spirit in this world was never devoid of conflict. As one thing led to another, Natsuro and Neri found themselves cooperating with former enemies and allies to acquire their common goal and had better do it fast since the DEM had started its move by unleashing its hordes of mechanical creations onto them. Not to mention that while all that was happening, something in the shadows began to move.
