Kendall was orphaned from birth, but has fond memories of her childhood after being raised by her Grandmother. Following her Grandmother's passing, she was forced to go forth in her life with no other relatives to turn to. She had mere photographs of her Mother - photographs which had endured decades of sun-damage, sat on cabinet shelves in her Grandmother's old house. There was 'nothing to know' of her Father, and Kendall had never pressed her Grandmother to know more as she always became tempered at the topic. The only blood relative Kendall had ever known was stolen from her by old age.

Still, she was happy. She had amazingly supportive friends, an affectionate pet cat named Simba and a job millions of girls would kill for.

However, the world she had become accustomed to takes an unexpected turn. It all begins when her boss and editor-in-chief of Runway magazine-Mr. William Bishop-takes unexpected leave, and a new boss steps in to fill his shoes.
