[Sequel Being Written]
Everyone knows what to do in a zombie apocalypse, find shelter, get a weapon, stock up on supplies.
Evelyn Duncan has it all. Her house is impenetrable, stock loaded with weapons and supplies, and it's one of the only places that still has running water and electricity. It even has a moat.
Evelyn Duncan, however, does not like people, does not share, and always travels alone.
Melissa Burrows is at the bottom of the totem pole. The unwilling leader to what is left of her group of survivors, she is determined to find them a safe place for them to call home. No more hiding in abandoned buildings without running water, no more rolling blackouts when transformers go down, no more scrounging for supplies in a world where supplies are more then limited.
If she can take out Evelyn and take over her trade deals and her house, she, and everyone she's responsible for, would finally be safe. But she isn't the first person to think of that.
From random citizens to the leaders of the new social groups, everyone wants a piece of what Evelyn has. But there's a reason why everyone's scared of her and why the people who challenge her disappear.
Melissa is about to find out why.

Against all odds, Em has found protection in Carnelian but time has taught her something is always around the corner and she knows better than to drop her guard.
Their new home is amongst their friends and they have adapted to a new way of life with each other. Though, safety is harder in the colder months and disaster is close by. Em begins to feel the pressure of trying to hold the town together as it begins to fall apart around her.
When tragedy strikes and both their worlds are turned upside-down, they must face the past head on and travel to familiar places if they want to hold on to the people they love.
Everything is on the line and there's only one person who can stop it.
