Nearly two years ago Maddie Barringer's life changed forever, when she accidentally walked in on a telephone call taken by family friend, and US Senator Bill Hawkins. Threatened with her life, or that of her family, she fled New York in a state of panic. Forced to start a new life on the tiny Block Island she opened a small-time photographic company. As days turn to months though, she struggled more and more with the acknowledgement that she would never see her husband and two children again. When she sees their photograph in a National magazine, pleading for information about her whereabouts, she realizes that the time has come to fight. If she doesn't there may never be an opportunity for the reunion she desperately wants. The fates align when Ronnie Wilson comes into her life, and she realizes that her perfect opportunity has arrived. Particularly when the former Private Investigator decides to resume his career to fight her cause. It doesn't take long for them to realize that the can of worms she opened is far more significant than she previously thought, and very soon she finds that she and her family are fleeing for their lives. Will life ever be the same again?
