It was supposed to be poison, something to lessen your suffering and deliver you to a painless death, a sort of final mercy offered to you courtesy of your family's status. That's what it said in the book. The villainess, killed by the hands of the crazed second lead, a man no less befitting if the title of a villain, a foreign emperor, he would be the one to kill her for disturbing the female lead. You still remembered how your consciousness faded, the voices of the ministers surrounding you, the piercing gaze of your 'murderer'. But to your surprise, not even a few hours later, you were alive and well. Checking over and over again, was this really you? Why were you still alive? Was this a final mockery by whatever deity or power that dragged you to this world?
