Link and Zelda have started restoration of Hyrule, and are well on their way to establishing a peaceful, prosperous rule. But what neither of them expected was to uncover secrets that might have been better left hidden.
After everything they have been through, it seems like they still can't catch a break, and danger is ever close, lurking around every corner.
**Disclaimer: I started this story after the first trailer for TotK, so this is loosely based on those events, but is first and foremost a result of my imagination. Over the course of writing this story, I have added elements from the game as I saw fit. In the end it does tell a very different story.

Amnesia was a funny thing. It strips you of all memories, both good and bad. But what it didn't take away from Link was his caring heart. He wasn't a man who had time to deal with or worry about things like memories anyway. All he cared about was doing what was right. But just because Link had no memories, or any interest to reclaim them, didn't mean they wouldn't return to haunt him. Ever since Link woke up, strange things have been happening around the land. That's what draws something toward Link, the very same evil that created the creatures he faces. It follows and watches him from the shadows, taunting him, waiting for him to remember the past he's forgotten, waiting for the pain to resurface, waiting for the time he can no longer carry the weight of it all. As he journeys on his quest to defeat Ganon and save Princess Zelda, Link must learn to contend with another ancient evil that taints the land, all while facing the ghosts of his forgotten past. They continue to discover the wonders of the Surface, but obstacles from their shared past weigh their hearts and hinder their intimate desires. As I write, my innocent mind grows as much as Link and Zelda's relationship does. Instead of being afraid to share these, I proceed to look upon this as sharing my growth as a writer and a huge release of my secret world unto you, dear reader. I'm in the process of completely transforming this into a better story that feels like it's actually from a Zelda game and including musical and visual media so you see it how I do. Peeling back Link's hardend exterior revealing his heart, Zelda yearns to be free with him in the open. A zelink fanfic occuring before the events of breath of the wild. Not everything is canon. The Silent Princess
Zelda and Link have finally reunited after the Calamity, and there's a lot to do to restore Hyrlue to its former glory. On their adventures together, Link and Zelda get closer than they ever were before. Could this finally be the Zelink we've all been waiting for? ~Having returned after two years, I decided to edit The Heroes' Rebirth. I changed (hopefully) all of the spelling errors, fixed the grammar and changed some of the sequences of events. Now, her appreciation and feelings towards the knight grew stronger and through every moment, good and bad, she is determined to stay by his side and never loose him, even if that means loosing herself.
