Ever wonder what kind of an emperor Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaevich would have been? Would he have been a tyrant? Would he have been dubbed as Alexei the terrible as his father often joked or would he have been a tenderhearted man just like his father before him?
Had the murders on the night of the 17th of July 1918 never taken place, would he have lived long enough to see his own children rule Russia or would bouts of hemophilia cut his life short?
These are one of the many questions that will never be answered. Unless, of course, we reopen an already finished story and add a little twist to it.
In this story, the murders never took place. Read through and who knows, maybe all those unanswered questions may finally be answered.

As for the Paleys, Grand Duke Paul's morganatic family, they are fully settled in Russia. Prince Vladimir Paley continues his work as a professor of Russian Literature at the Corps des Pages and accepts the position of tutor to Grand Duke Michael's two children, Tata and George. Princess Irina Paley is living a fairytale romance with Prince Feodor Alexandrovich, but she'll have to make a difficult choice between love and her own personal ambitions. Princess Natalia, known for her artistic spirit, finds herself drawn to a captivating ballet dancer.
