Eighteen years after the last Selection, after the fall of the castes and the Selection itself, a new heir prepares for the throne. Shalen Schreave is ready to be king, but what would he be king of? His father's kingdom is slowly crumbling as the Sotutherners and the old upper castes andalliance themselves together against the new kingdom.
