Miss Amelia Irving, the eldest daughter to the Irvings, is to marry someone for a business deal that her father has made. She has to oblige or else she might suffer great consequences.

Mr Jones is not fond of marriage or any special connections. He is the only son of Earl and Mrs Jones so he cannot back out from this business deal. He only agrees to marry because of what he will get from the business deal.

Amelia realises Mr Jones's plans and tries to change his mind about marriage. But will she do it in time before the wedding? And will she teach Mr Jones how to love?

But lord Bradford wouldn't accept her refusal and makes her a counter offer which she accepts with reluctance. They will stay engaged till the end of summer and quietly break-off the engagement afterwards to avoid scandal. But will they break off the engagement or will they fall in love? Only time will tell
