Monica Hemingway is an 8th grade teacher at West Oaks Middle school. At 36 years old, she is often asked to help out with the elementary students in the building next door. As she gets to know all of her students, she begins to see what is hidden beneath the surface. When one of her students takes out a gun and begins to shoot, she is reminded of her difficult childhood, wondering how far she will go to save the lives of her students.
