Keith had lost his family at a young age. He had to learn to fend for himself and close himself off to avoid being abandoned again. Slowly people make their way into his life that challenge his view on life and make his walls start to crumble.
He may not have had a family when he first became a paladin, but that doesn't mean that he couldn't find one along the way.
Heavily inspired by the song Home by Cavetown.

The Stranger
Voltron is invited to a fancy space station after saving it. As the team enjoys the loud and massive amusement of the station, Keith begins to feel odd and decided to find some peace and quiet somewhere else. There as Keith slowly loses control of himself, he meets a dashing alien to who he is instantly attracted. This leads to massive events that would change the universe and give Shiro extra gray hairs. Lol, first Klance! Hope you all enjoy! Keith has been haunted since he fought with the Druid. His hand... It just healed... That wasn't a normal thing. Then Zarkon... The emperor told Keith he fought similar to his Galran soldiers. That had honestly scared him. So when the paladins are reunited after being spread throughout space, he tries to hide his insecurities and fears and pain. However, he can't hide it for long. "I'm sorry!" Lance all but shouted the words, causing the smaller girl to flinch but he was already moving. Stumbling. His vision blurred with tears as he was turning away from her, escaping, his tone begging, "I'm sorry, Pidge, I'm so sorry. Please forget that this ever happened, please!"
