The Spartan II Program's time is long over, replaced by the newer Spartan IV's. Candidates for this program are volunteers that participate due to their extensive military background. The technological advancements of Mjolnir armor systems and augmentations.
Many incoming Spartans are aware of the legends and tales that the previous generations of super soldiers created. The tale about the children kidnapped for its program lived on with infamy.
In the latter half of the Human-Covenant War, the Office of Naval Intelligence directed Doctor Catherine Halsey and her team to create a new batch of Spartan II soldiers, because of their success. Due to a shortage of able candidates, only 17 subjects could be put through the program.

Book One: Spartan Isabella Bluestar
Summary: An Outer Colony is attacked by Covenant Remnant. One of the survivors is a young girl that was saved by Blue Team. And it turns out she is the daughter of a MIA Spartan 2, Spartan-006. So, Lasky decides that having her around would be good for them. Author's Note: Blue Team is written as slightly more human. Also, the story takes place post halo 4 and pre halo five. Since cannon wise Halo 4 and Halo 5 are only a year apart, the events of Halo 5 won't be taking place until like 2567 for the sake of this AU. There is also a pairing between a Spartan 4 and Spartan 2, saw the interesting pairing on Tumblr and ended up liking it. And when you see this pair, yes, I am aware that in cannon the Spartan 4 is in a relationship, but this is an AU do not take it seriously. Book 03/06 (Current Version: Prototype - Version 1.0) This story/fanfiction is a 'what if scenario' within the Sci-Fi videogame series known as Halo and is based on an original character named 'Lieutenant Serenity McKnight' that partners with the legendary Master Chief himself, after the UNSC Pillar of Autumn had escaped a Halo Ring known as Installation 04 by the help of a mysterious alien of myth and legend called a Forerunner. The UNSC and their newest ally embark on a heavy defensive throughout Earth against the enemy, protecting humanities home planet at all cost. Lieutenant Serenity McKnight and her brothers and sisters in arms do their best to make the best of the war at the African front nearing New Mombasa. Doing so until an unknown mission would begin, deep in the jungle. The story is a 'reimagining' of Halo and is non-canon and is to be not taken seriously as this was an idea created back when I first played the games. After an UNSC fleet fell prey to an ancient Forerunner scheme, a lone Spartan is left stranded in a world that he doesn't understand. He gets himself inadvertently bonded to a dragon, marking him as a pawn in a new conflict. He must fight for his life and overcome his own nature to gain allies in a world where nothing makes sense. But war always catches on, burning all it touches. Episode 2: I believe that seeing more than 60 parts in a story makes the readers (or at least me as a reader) feel uncomfortable so I'm dividing in different Episodes: At the Beors, At Du Weldenvarden, The Beggining of the Invasion, New Allies, etc. I suggest to read each chapter entirely to get a better grasp of the plot. Also, there are some scenes of bloodshed and fight, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. There may be some scenes not for children but not until, at least, chapter 35, Episode 3 or 4. Updates once or twice a week.
