A few hundred years after district 12 actually gained recognition, more and more winners came from district 12, turns out while training helps, desperation, that burning urge to win, that's all you needed, the districts stopped turning on the government, the capital and as such were rewarded, its now common for 2 players of the same team to win, so long as there was love of course, be it romantic or not, and if their teammate died then thats angst ontop of the games, either way everyone wins, well except for the losers.

When an Uprising took down all of the districts in Panem besides one, District 13, which was obliterated, The Hunger Games started. Every year one boy and one girl get chosen to go to the Capitol, get pampered, get trained, and then get shoved out into an arena to fight to the death. When Clove Summers is reaped, she can only hope that someone will volunteer for her so she can stay in the comfort of home with the boy she loves, Cato. When no one volunteers, Clove realizes that she will be up against 23 other kids, killing them. And one of those people happen to be Cato.
