Maya Jean lives two lives.
By day, she's a regular high schooler, angry she got unfairly put in detention for an offense she didn't commit-her only solace there being the resident photographer skater boy, Peter Parker.
By night, she's a vigilante, angry that someone new, Spider-Man, is not only (1) taking her (unspoken) job of protecting New York City and getting the glory for it, but (2) dragging her into his mess.
