Xiao, a lonely adeptus, has had enough of life. He always thinks about what he could've done to save his friends. Ever since the other Yaksha died, Zhongli has changed, in the worst way possible. He lives in regret and sees no point in living anymore. He just does his duties of fighting evil, and that's all he exists for.

Venti, the archon of anemo, is doing well. He and the traveler go on adventures together all the time and learn new things. He wishes that everyone could feel the joy that there is in life. He has helped everyone so far, but there is one person that needs his help the most. The only problem is, the traveler is extremely clingy to Venti and thinks that he is their lover.

When Venti and Xiao bump into each other one day, everything changes. Venti sees how badly Xiao needs help, and Xiao sees Something to live for and protect. Even when Xiao is doing better, something always come to harm him.
