Athena's mom died and ever since then her dad has been an abusive drunk. The two move around every year looking for a fresh start that never actually comes around because he never changes. Athena is strong but at every school she keeps her head down and trys to be the quiet kid at the back of every class. She never really had the chance to make friends nor did she want any. 

Its her junior year in high-school and things are turning out quite different then she expected. She learns to let lose and meets a guy who every girl drools over and she personally hates. Shes soon is to learn he only has eyes for her. New amazing friends come into the picture. She starts to feel like she belongs and the more she opens up the more she realizes family doesn't always have to be blood yet the people who are there for you no matter what.
