It was early summer, and all I was thinking about was going out with my friend. I texted my best friend, "Hey Amy, I was thinking maybe you want to hang out with me today?". She straight away replied with a yes. We both decided that we want to go buy some new summer clothes. I pulled out of my bed and went to get a shower. Quickly, I washed my hair and curled it, I had perfect curls. I put on a dress and really nice shoes and left the house in a blink of an eye. I was meeting Amy at the bus stop. Rapidly, I made my way down to it and I see Amy with a boy, I started running towards them. The boy had perfect brown eyes and brown hair. He was quite short but it was just impossible not to stare at him. He put his hand out and in a hot accent he says, "Hey there, I'm Leondre but you can call me Leo". I knew I was falling for him, I felt like my heart was melting just by looking at him. "Hey Leo, my name is Megan, nice to meet you" I say. He looked me in the eye, which felt like forever.

Lauren Jules, her twin sister Miranda, and their best friend Jake all grew up together in their own little world. Just three kids having the time of their lives. And then came the summer that changed everything. It was the summer Lauren fell in love with her best friend. It was the summer her family broke apart and she grew up. It was the summer Jake left. Now five years later, Jake is moving back and Lauren is determined to keep her guard up against the boy who stole her heart years ago. But Lauren's not the only one with something to hide, Jake seems to be fighting some demons of his own. His past has changed him from the happy-go-lucky kid he was, to a reckless guy with a smirk for a smile. And he's driving Lauren insane. ****** Excerpt from That Summer "Well I'm surprised," he drawled huskily, playing with a strand of my hair. "You acted like a natural last night." Oh. My. God. What did that even mean? He chuckled at my deer-in-headlights expression. There was no way I would not remember losing my virginity to Jake. Hell, I'd memorize every second of it. "What do you mean?" I asked slowly, my stomach doing somersaults. Please tell me I'm jumping to the wrong conclusion. Pretty please. "Well," he started, a gleam in his eyes. "First, you grabbed the blanket and ripped it right off of me." I blinked at him, a horrified expression on my face. I slapped his hand away from my hair and turned around. Yup, there it was. Lying on the floor, along with my dignity. He continued solemnly. "And then, you climbed up on top of me." Could you die from your face overheating? I waited for my embarrassment to be complete as he tapped his chin, thoughtfully. "Yeah, that's about it." That's it? THAT'S IT? So I hadn't completely thrown myself at him. Just a tad. And the prize for the unluckiest luckiest horndog of the year goes to Lauren Can't Keep Her Hands To Herself Jules. I grabbed the pillow and smacked him over the head with it. Hard.
