Secrets.

Secrets were nothing but a world of trouble. The required effort to protect and the possibility of them boiling over was a straight pain in the ass.

Secrets were a nuisance, yet so many people had them, and this particular family was no exception.

The Malones were a different type of family, connected to a community concealed from the eyes of humans. They didn't conform to the norms humans deemed acceptable. Yet they live peacefully amongst them, protecting their secrets from non-worthy eyes.

However, that peaceful reality was starting to crumble.

Their secrets were on the verge of discovery, and the last thing the Malones needed was another secret. What will happen when they discover that unwanted secret comes with a guaranteed death wish and one of them knows about it.
