Over the years izuku learn how to defend himself in private, read comics from before quirks were around and learning about heroes quirks. One day, while izuku is running away from his tormentors, he runs into the forest to lose them. After he does he realizes he's lost and then he sees a meteor coming towards him. After it crashes izuku feels like it's calling to him, he goes near it and almost in an instant he feels a sudden surge of power and strength he never felt before. It would've been years before they come face-to-face with their lost former family member.
