"Cole," I whispered as we got to the hotel room door.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"Thanks for having my back out there," I blushed. I wasn't used to admitting anything to him, especially anything good. He gave me a shy smile.
"That's what partners are for, right?"
"Yeah, it's just that if you hadn't stepped in front of me and caught the painting then I probably would have the world's most treasured painting lodged through my head and then I would have to go home and explain to my mom why I have the world's most treasured painting through my head and then-"
He cuts off my rambling by pressing his lips to mine. They feel soft and warm against my own. He pulls away and scans my face for a reaction but I'm frozen. Never in a million years did I expect that to happen. He looks regretful as I continue to display no emotion on my face.
"Oh shit, I'm sorry Lee, I should have asked you before I-"
I stand on my tip toes and kiss him back, almost knocking him over. He gains his balance and holds onto my body for support, kissing me harder and with more passion. My hands find their way to his hair as he lifts me up and has me wrap my legs around his waist while he fumbles for the room key. I kiss his neck while he puts the card in the lock, pushes open the door and throws me on the bed.
"You'll never guess how long I've waiting for this to happen," he comments with a smirk.
