In a world where the darkness within oneself is a sickness, and becomes a concrete thing, destroying the organs, causing tissues to go gangrene , poisoning and mutating the body. A particular set of surgeon, if payed the right amount, are willing to search the darkness within the body, remove it completely, promising to then burn it in front of your very eyes.
Since the most evil and despicable acts are done consciously, there's a catch: the darkness within takes form only when the person is conscious, therefore, the patient must be fully aware and awake during the surgery.
Not the pubblic nor the the Print or even the government knows what happens after this darkness is removed. It does not help the fact that the surgeons categorically refuse to explain what happens before, during and after the operation, not even saying what or how a person looks like once everything is done. Some of them even denying having performed said surgery.

The Torment
December twentieth is the day I remember being brought into the asylum for the first time. Like any typical psychopath, I screamed. I cried. So that was the deciding factor. It became my inspiration, my reason for resorting to such seclusion. I had always needed my own space for working, which is why even when I worked in the hospital I never allowed for a nurse or doctor or any other person to be in room, except me and the patient.
