{COMPLETED} Kyle was just Kyle. No last name, no family, no past. It was simple that way. Or at least it was easier than being Daniel, who cared too much to be anything but a coward. Kyle got decent cash from his side job, flunked classes on purpose, and had unlimited access to all the booze and drugs he could ask for. Was he a horrible person? Yes. Did he deserve to get busted? Definitely. Did he hate himself for it? Absolutely. But none of that mattered. Girls made for decent enough distractions as long as he drank himself to oblivion beforehand. And that was his plan. A high schooler who'd somehow managed to work hard enough to graduate a year earlier than Emma and all of his crime thirsty friends even though he was the same age. His first time in the school library after four years of high school he thought would be boring, indifferent if you will. Instead, he somehow ends up home with a seemingly crazy girl and missing his first kiss. In Carter's eyes Emma, who had convinced him her name was Valerie, was weird beyond belief, yet he was somewhat drawn to her. He sees Emma as a judgmental nun who assumes that just because he's been to Juvie a time or two, hasn't ever kissed a girl. That just because he could have any girl in the school that he wanted, had never been on a date. He thought Emma saw him for his looks only, and for some odd reason, he wanted her to see him as more.
