Holly Holloway (in her ironic name glory) was timid and soft-spoken. A quiet honors student who read more than she socialized. But her best friend, Layla Matthews, (the outgoing one) would always push her into doing things out of her comfort zone. After Layla moved to Canada (freaking Canada!), Holly realized just how much she relied on Layla for that extra push. She became even more introverted after her best friend left.
But her life completely changes when she sees a terrible crime that sends her, the class clown, and the cute football captain into the Witness Protection Program.
But now because of that fateful encounter she is living with two boys and a CIA agent who swears to protect the them.
And Holly's name is changed for her protection, fatefully to Layla Hale. With her new name reminding her of her outgoing best friend, Holly creates a whole new identity for herself- one where she's confident and daring and attention-grabbing.
She may even catch the eye of that cute football captain along the way.
