Adrian Langley, an author, lives a normal life. He wakes up, eats, and then goes to Pattys' Coffee Shop and brainstorms story ideas for another book. His life is pretty boring and bland...until he stumbles upon another author, Lillian Hayes, mother of two. Lillian and Adrian over time get to know each other and slowly but, surely become close friends. One day, Adrian finds out that Lillian is writing a book about a mother in an abusive marriage. He encourages her to finish it and publish it but, she declines. What Adrian doesn't know is that there is a big secret behind that book, why she is writing it, and why she won't publish it.
