Leah. Leah Ivy Aveline was never one to give up. Things were never handed to her on a silver plate, always the one to find the best in the worst of her times. Nothing stopped her from getting what she wanted. She was the living example of "the most beautiful smiles hide the most pain". Her past always found a way to haunt her. All the memories running through her head every night. She was a wild moonchild.

And then there was Theo. Theo Chase Anderson. He had quite the reputation among women. Your typical textbook asshole. The star quarterback of the New York Giants and the people's favorite. Being the youngest child he was always pampered by his family. Their golden trophy. He was the total heartthrob. But he did earn his place as the star quarterback. He was someone who would do anything to achieve what he wants. Be it his love or be it his dreams.

What will happen when these two people, who are worlds apart, cross paths?
Well, they fall into oblivion.

If you asked anyone who Gwyneth Barrett is, they'd have a lot of things to say about her. Her classmates at her preppy high school would tell you that she's a perfect role model, but her friends in Brooklyn would call her haunted. If one described Ezekiel Branson they'd call him a quiet and observant child of a multimillionaire family- who was blessed with devilishly good looks and a fine taste for fashion. Their school peers only see one side to each of them, never knowing the truth behind the masks. Being the children of two wealthy families comes with many secrets. Wealth isn't as glamorous as one would hope. The two have hardly crossed paths, until their father's decide to make a business deal, throwing their eighteen year old children's lives onto the same track. Neither Ezekiel or Gwyneth are who they seem. Nothing would be the same after they meet and secrets are revealed, and lives are destroyed on the Upper East Side of New York. They are the perfect Duet Of Deceit. ________________ TDOD will contain sensitive subjects and materials. Refer to the introductory for the list of warnings. R18+ Due to the nature variants of plot. STARTED: 28th Feb 2022 A chapter will be posted weekly. ONGOING ________________ To some, words are words. To Gwyneth Barrett, those big and scary words are the ones that follow her into her sleep. In school they teach you to say 'no' in dangerous situations, or when you are denying consent. Saying no has never been an option for Gwyneth. That's a luxury that she doesn't get, no matter the cost of her own sanity and wellbeing. What her father wills, goes. The monster creates those big and scary words.

CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. "All week, you've been on my mind, and I can't make it go away. Finally, after suffering in silence for so long at the thought of your lips, your laugh, and your smile..." Aaron trailed off, his eyes roamed my face. "All week?" I scoffed pulling away. "I've been in love with you for twenty years!" "We've been friends since childhood, and I've accepted that we're just not meant to be. I've tried to move on and you encouraged me to follow my dreams. I just... I didn't know that my dream was you." . ✧ . Bethany grew up in a small town in rural Alabama. Her older brother and her best friend had been the only closest people to her for years. Until they all graduated together and went their separate ways. Struggling to stay in touch with one another with their developing, adult lives. Years ago Bethany had fallen head over heels in love with the most popular guy in town, Aaron Russel. But confessing her feelings had always been something she would never do. After all Aaron was her best friend's brother who never gave Bethany a second thought. Or so she thought. Bethany had always been the typical nerdy girl without any fashion sense. Aaron was the complete opposite. Aaron throughout school was the class clown, football quarterback with dozens of friends that hung onto his every word. Girls at his beck and call. And high school only enriched his popularity. And now almost a decade later they all have the opportunity to see each other again at their ten year high school reunion. Now Bethany had the chance to show everyone she grew up with how much she changed. Her thriving career out of state finally gaining confidence and sophistication transforming into a whole new woman. It took Aaron and Bethany some time to realize what they wanted and what they needed in life. And it took them even more time to confess who they were truly in love with.

Avery wrapped an arm around my waist to catch me before I could get out the door. He pushed me up against the door, trapping me between his body and the door. "What's wrong?" I asked innocently. His face hovered over mine, much closer than I was used to. His gaze didn't leave mine as he spoke. "It would have been different if I had told him from the start. You wanted me to lie for you. You started this. If we tell him what really happened, he would be pissed at me for lying to him." "Stormie, you got a phone call!" Mason yelled up the stairs. The closeness between Avery and me started to make my legs feel like Jell-O, and I couldn't make sense of it. Our breathing became heavier. His eyes trapped mine. "Answer him," Avery murmured. "Uh," I stammered. I cleared my throat. "Be down in a minute!" My voice came out higher than usual. My gaze still couldn't escape Avery's. My heart raced wildly as his chest rose and fell against mine. Avery's gaze flickered to my lips. What's happening? My gaze fell to his mouth, which was moving closer to mine. Stormie West is brave, kind, and young. She has a lot to learn about love, trust, lust, and heartbreak. Stormie's older brother, Mason, is brave, cocky, and a bit of an asshole. He's the wide receiver for the high school football team. Avery Prince is Mason's best friend. Avery has it all, popularity, star quarterback, and girls. What more could he want, right? #1 in Quarterback 11/10/2020 #1 in action-adventure 11/15/2020
