Sheriff Woody, a good-hearted cowboy doll, who belongs to a boy named Braedey Martin, now sees his position as Braedey's favourite toy jeopardized when his mother buys him a Buzz Lightyear action figure, and a special doll along with him for Braedey's birthday. But, Woody's partner, Braedimus Prime, a good-Sparked Autobot action figure, reassures him it won't come to that. But worse, the arrogant Buzz thinks he's a real spaceman on a mission to return to his planet. When Braedey's family prepare to move out to a new house, Woody, Braedimus, the new doll, and Buzz must escape the clutches of tormentor neighbour Sid Phillips and reunite with their owner before they move out. Even though there is peace, some strange creatures appear on the island, and they have even the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex scared. Known as Grimm by Team RWBY, they must team up with the former residents of Arendelle and stop the Grimm from destroying all of Dinotopia.

When Woody's arm rips, he ends up on the shelf, missing cowboy camp. He and Mighty Eagle rescue a toy from a yard sale, but are then stolen by a greedy toy collector, who plans to sell them and his collections to a museum in Tokyo. This leads to Buzz and many of Andy's toys to go out on a journey to the city to rescue their friends before it's too late. In the meantime, Woody and Mighty Eagle meet new friends who were in storage for so long and are eventually talked into going to the museum with them. A toy named Titan makes sure Sophie's toys don't do anything they are not suppose to do and with Woody and Buzz's help. Until Sophie birthday, that's when Titan's life went upside down when 4 female weaponized dolls and a transforming doll comes into Sophie's room. That will be when their friendship comes to the test. Ever since Woody ended up becoming Bonnie's toy after having been Andy's for so many years, he felt lost. He yearned for the days where we was played with more often, times he got to travel a lot, etc. Most importantly though, he yearned for his true love, Bo Peep. After having been separated from her for nine years, Woody reunites with her and finds himself not wanting to lose her again. The thought of losing her again terrifies him beyond belief. At the end of the movie, he makes the tough call of either leaving her once more or leaving his friends to be with his true love.
