Magic, monsters, mayhem ... and high school. What could go wrong? Everything!
I'm a freak, but I've got the God-given sense to know to keep it a secret that I can use magic to lose some things and to find other things. As magic goes, it totally sucks, especially since I can't control it. I couldn't use it to find my brother and save him from a serial killer. So what good is it that I can lose a shoe and find a hubcap?
Some people do think I'm extra special, though. I don't know how they found out about me, but the Stone Men and their Black Dogs are after me every chance they get. It's their job to keep magic a secret and make you think the world is normal. The Glass Man's out to get me, too. He's just out to make everybody his psycho slave. There's a war coming between Stone and Glass, and I'm right in the middle. But this war isn't just about hidden magic and humans.
When you're a little kid, your parents tell you that there isn't any such thing as monsters. Well, they're lying. Some monsters want to offer you a deal, and some, well, some just might end up your best friend. Others, they just want to eat you.
Right now, I'm dodging homework and things trying to turn me into lunch. I'm gonna find a way out of this war and save my friends... or die trying--

I'd Like to think I was a good person, before it all began. I didn't cheat on tests, or steal. But throughout my entire life, I was treated if I were a monster. At the age of five, after several agonizing tests, I was diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder. But not even that title could describe just how strange I was. When another kid got hurt, I would cry. Whenever someone else was told a funny joke, I would laugh hysterically. People looked at me as if I were crazy- and for while I agreed with them. That was until I, Caddie Jones, was exiled to Nox Haven Academy, a school for truly special kids. Not the mentally ill, psychotic kind of special but the magical kind. In a world where magical creatures and humans intermix, there are two types of magic and two types of people. Dark magic and light magic. Good people and evil people. Our main character is going to learn that your powers do not define who you are as a person. Arion Griffin lives in a society where people with light magic are 'good' and people with dark magic are 'bad'. He comes from a long line of dark magic. Unfortunately, this causes many problems for his social life since his family's reputation precedes him and makes it so no one will talk with him. He is worried it will make his greatest fear come true. He is terrified he is on the path to becoming evil like his parents. Then, one day at school he gets an invitation from Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. Sure he's heard of it, but only in rumors. The school is just for magical creatures to learn more about themselves and their history. It was made over three hundred years ago and still run by a fairy named Cassiopea and her daughter Cassia. Arion is excited to go because his parents refuse to teach him anything about other magical creatures other than dark magic. They believe it is irrelevant for him to know because they think he will take over the world one day. And why should a leader know anything about his subjects? Arion convinces his parents that if he goes to the school he can do recon on the other magical people so he can learn about them and make it easier for him to take over. With no friends, no siblings, and a very negative outlook on life, he heads to Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. I wake up with a pounding headache. Now I know why my mother tells me not to drink. I open my eyes and close them right after. I pull my covers off of me and stretch for a minute. I walk to the bathroom with my eyes still closed. Now that takes skill. I open my eyes when I get in there. I look around for a second and scream. I run to the bed I was in and see its not mine. I scream again. I go to the door and its locked. No,no,no this can't be happening... moments later the door opens and I almost punch the person opening it, he grabbed my hand and then put it down. "Mr. B?" "Its Jeff out of school for you,now." "What's going on! Why did you take me!?" I screamed at him walking back away from him. Im terrified. My teacher took me... Jessi is a 17 year old girl who does what she please. One night Jessi went out with friends and had to much to drink. Next thing she knows she is at her hot teachers house... _______ Hello. "Who's there," I can't breath. I'm always looking over my shoulder ever since- I can't think about the now. I have to run but where, back to Jake? No I can't, everything is different now. He's supposed to be here to protect me, because if the got me... blood smears the pages of the passed. "Sapphire!" I hear him call. "Coal!" I reach out to touch him only for him to be yanked just out of my reach. I hear the wolves in the distance howling at the beautiful moon. I need his touch again. I need to know I'm safe. The only safe place anymore is pressed against him under the sheets. "Coal!" I call out again. ---I can hear her. She's here somewhere I know it. I can smell her sent threw the thick of the woods. "Sapphire!" I call out, but my call is lost in the night. I have to protect her. I have to save one, just one. Maybe that will be enough to clean the blood off my tainted skin. What if they get her? She'll... Change... I look up at the moon, could she not have heard my howls? Of course she did. She always did. I can hear the other wolves in the forest. Soon I too would be engulfed by the beast. Kitsune have more names than there are stars in the sky, but I only have one--Jack Jericho. Call Kon of the Many Tails whatever you want-fox-spirit, monster, kitsune, myth-to me, she's one thing-mom. But everybody's got a past, and hers is about to catch up to both of us. I always knew there was more to her than keeping me safe during the war between Glass and Stone that almost took out a town called Dooms, Virginia. Hey, with a name like Dooms, I guess you should expect an apocalypse or two. When I was a baby, my parents gave me to a crazy cult lead by a magic-wielding, Bible-beating psycho called the Glass Man. To get his way, he was willing to kill whoever he needed to. Even me. An army of monsters and people took him out before he could. Most people don't know about that stuff. People like thinking that magic is fake and that the world is boring. They want to believe that monsters are just things you read about in books. But a very real and powerful monster is coming after Kon and will stop at nothing to get her! No matter what, I'll die to keep her safe! I may look normal, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve. To save Kon, I'm gonna have to fight my way past wolf-monsters, humanoid crows that call themselves the Widow Boys, and even more! I thought I knew what I should be afraid. I didn't. Luna's Awakening
Well, just when I thought my life couldn't get any crazier, guess what? It got crazier. Last time we met, I was trying to save myself and this guy from this malicious spirit who wouldn't leave him alone and was trying to kill him. I thought that was bad and stress inducing. I'm also learning more about the "supernatural world," where apparently, it's where all the ghouls exist and thrive in. And guess what else? I'm going to have to go to school with them. Fantastic. There's a part of me excited, though the larger part is scared to death.
