I pushed the bushes aside, and there sat a skinny young boy, maybe a toddler, with matted curly dark brown hair, hollow cheeks, and rags for clothes.

I froze in shock until I finally found the words to say, "Hello, my name's Cleo. . . what's yours?" I spoke as softly and calmly as possible.

He blinked his pretty grey eyes at me. "Mateo."

. . .

Imagine a half-eaten apple flies through the air and smacks you on the head. There's nobody around and no way for anyone to hide. Then, it happens again the next day and you do some searching and find a small child.

Would you take him in? Help him find his parents?

"𝔼𝕍𝔼ℝ𝕐 𝔽𝔸𝕄𝕀𝕃𝕐 ℍ𝔸𝕊 𝕊𝔼ℂℝ𝔼𝕋𝕊" - - - "My name is Hazel, but most people call me Ze. I'm from Melbourne, and love Taylor Swift." I cringe at my own words, and think back to a time where Fletcher was one of the only people calling me Ze. "Does anyone have questions for Miss. Bolivi?" Fletcher asks, and I hate the way my father's last name sounds on his lips. Lots of students raise their hands, and I feel overwhelmed. People actually want to learn something about me? "Yes, Miss. Abbott. Ask away," Fletcher says to one of the girls who is seated at a table at the front of the class, with other kids who all look bitchy like her. "Are you related to the Bolivi brothers?" Her disgustingly sweet voice pukes out. "My last name is Bailey," I say coldly, hating how that was her only query about me. - - - Hazel Bailey. She's your typical Australian teenage girl. Aldi lay on the cold floor, his heart racing and his body drenched in sweat. He had just experienced another nightmare, one of many that had been plaguing him as of late. In this dream, he was lost in a dense forest, pursued by an unseen creature that seemed determined to capture him. He had struggled and screamed for help, but there was no one to hear him. As he lay on the floor, trying to catch his breath, Aldi couldn't help but wonder what these strange dreams meant. He had always been a sound sleeper, but lately he had been waking up in a state of fear and exhaustion, feeling as though he had just run a marathon. He glanced at the old alarm clock on his bedside table, its bright red numbers announcing that it was just past four in the morning. In the distance, he could hear the faint sound of people reciting prayers at the mosque near his parents' house. Aldi sighed and sat up, rubbing his eyes. He knew he wouldn't be able to get back to sleep after the nightmare he had just had. He got to his feet and stumbled over to the window, looking out at the brightening sky. The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon, and the birds outside were starting to chirp, signaling the arrival of a new day. Despite the fatigue and fear that still lingered within him, Aldi couldn't help but feel a sense of hope as he watched the morning dawn. Maybe today would be the day that he finally got some answers about the strange dreams that had been plaguing him.

!!Trigger warning: suicide, Implied/Referenced Self Harm!! Warnings before sections. . This book is currently discontinued, if I find motivation to finish it it is not in the foreseeable future. . "Trust me." His voice was soft and calming, the way that a good father could be assumed to sound. "This isn't what you want, it never has been and it never will be. Confusion is difficult to work through, but if you just let me help you, I can show you that it can be worked through." He rolled up his sleeve, showing several white streaks across his skin. The other was shocked. "N-no, I'm not good for anything, I'm nothing there's nothing for me." He shook his head many times, holding it in his hands after a bit. "No." "Can I touch you?" The boy who was trying to help this poor soul had approached a few paces. His voice was now quieter, more soft, and still caring. The boy at the bridge took a moment to think, then nodded his approval. The savior gently took the boy's hands delicately in his own and gently pulled the boy back. Well, less of a pull and more of a gentle suggestion. It worked and the boy stumbled down off of the edge. The boy started to cry. How could he be so weak that a boy, the same age as him, who seemed to have the same ideas and hatred toward himself as he, could keep him from stepping off? The other simply gently led him to his vehicle and took out a water bottle out of the backseat. The boy took it and looked at it suspiciously. "It's untampered, look, it's still sealed." Upon seeing this, the boy opened it and took a few sips of water. "Thank you. For the water." The savior smiled. "It's nothing much." He shrugged. "Have a phone? If you want I can put my number in and then you'll always be able to tell someone if you're having a pissy day." Surprisingly enough, the boy agreed. . They would both be around twenty.

I felt the tears rise and I looked down for a minute, gathering all of my resolve. I looked up again and stared him right in the eye. "You know what? I trusted you!" I jabbed my finger in his chest and he recoiled. "I trusted you and you broke my trust. I trusted you to keep the secret. I trusted you enough to tell you everything. I trusted you to keep my trust. I trusted you." I told him and he flinched as my voice broke in the end. I looked away from him and at everyone else in the room. "And you wonder why I never trust. You know what? I can't do this. I'm done." I scoffed and shoved past Aiden but paused at the door, not looking back. "Oh, and if you are still curious? Go ahead and hack into the file. Don't say that I didn't warn you." ************************************************************** Alexis and Aiden are siblings with Aiden being 11 months older than her. With a neglectful mother and an abusing step dad, these two face the world on their own with no one to help them out. When they get a chance at a new life, they jump at it. What happens when Alexis bumps into a boy in the new school she is set to attend? Especially when the boy she bumps into looks exactly like her. [Like I mention in every book, my descriptions are horrible so please read the book before judging anything.]
