For most of her life, Desta Cameron had always been under the shoe of the cool kids. Picked last for kickball, the butt of everyone's jokes, even the target of multiple pranks, this small town girl was ready to reinvent herself for her first year of high school. But not even two weeks into the semester, a one-in-a-million chance makes the young nerd's dream of becoming a popular musician a reality.

Desta changed drastically - her hair, her style, even her name! - to the point where she could hardly recognize herself solely to further her fame. However, three years later she received an anonymous package from her old school, claiming that someone knew her identity and was asking for her to come back home for senior prom!

But she's changed so much! How will her friends react to seeing their old friend after so long? Her enemies? Her teachers? Who was this mystery sender and why were they confessing their love for her now? How will she readjust to life of an average teenager? Desta decided it was time to stop running from the truth and face the music.
