Twin sisters, Madeline and Margaret Darbinshire, lose their parents to a devastating house fire and are hastily entrusted to the care of their Aunt Beatrice. Aunt Beatrice quickly enrolls the girls in a boarding school, assuring them that it's only for their benefit.
As the months turn to years, the girls slowly learn more about the house fire and notice several clues which would lead to some serious accusations.
